Attorneys a Hyde and Swigart, APC and Kazerouni Law Group, APC are investigating possible unfair business practices of Bank of America (“BofA”).
We are assisting BofA Advantage Plus customers who were charged a $12 service fee and who were a student at the time they were charged the fee.

Students under age 24 are eligible for a waiver of the $12 service fee while enrolled in high school, college or a vocational program. But students over that age are not. Discrimination?

According to the BofA website, Advantage Plus customers are responsible for the $12 monthly service fee associated with their account. The terms and conditions further state that a customer is eligible for a waiver of such fee during the time of enrollment when he/she:

  • Was under age 24; and
  • Was enrolled in high school, college or a vocational program.

Students older than 24 y.o. are similarly situated as students under 24 y.o., yet are not exempt from the fee. Therefore, we are investigating an allegation that the BofA is discriminating against their older customers based on their age.

BofA Advantage Plus customers who have been charged the $12 fee may be entitled to receive cash refunds and additional compensation for violation of their rights.

Some BofA Customers Are Worried That Having an Attorney
Represent Them Will Require Out-Of-Pocket Expenses:

Sadly, some people will not take this opportunity to rectify their wrong because they are concerned about incurring out-of-pocket expenses when they apply for this service. This is not only wrong, but it’s in fact, quite the opposite!
